The Luctonians Tour 2011 to South Africa is not just about playing rugby in some of the most beautiful locations in the world or about playing against passionate opposition that will test and try our playing resolve. Nor it is about enjoying the hospitality of another country, though these are all things worth looking forward to.

It is about giving our young players a chance to become directly involved in promoting the game of rugby and seeing and exploring for themselves how sport can have a positive impact on young people. How it can be used to enhance life skills and help children to make positive life style choices and use sport as a vehicle to better themselves.

Being involved in the 2011 tour will not only help our players develop their rugby skills but will also give them a unique opportunity to enhance their own life skills.

The demanding nature of the rugby in SA also means that our coaches must commit to continual personal development if they are to help the squad achieve its potential and are properly prepared for the tests to come.
